Civ4 and its expansions get patched on Steam. Sometimes takes a couple of days though. So Col2 should as well.

Check the steam forums for the Civ games, might find some help there.

Steam allows you to redownload as often as you want. They allow backing up, but you still need to use the Steam client to do the install (basically a very simple DRM solution).

Steam has it now as well.

I used to see that pre-1.52, haven't seen it happen yet with the patch applied (geforce 6600GT).
