Exactly! After a few patches or an expansion all the complainers will be running back to Civ 5. I'm not condoning their release of the game in the shape that it's in now but all the people declaring the death of civilization is being way too dramatic IMO.

Go download Valkrionn's economy mod. It makes everything so much better. Most things take less than ten turns to build in a good production city. It definitely makes the game alot more enjoyable. The research is slowed down too so you won't end up in the industrial age in the 13th century.

Ironically, strategic mode always freezes my game. But it does speed up turn time by a couple seconds when it actually works.
