In regards to the bowman, I used it to start a GA once I had two high-shield cities early about midway through the AA and used it to crank out most of the ancient wonders.
Settled in place, started rapid expansion. Don't have much time to reply so basically destroyed America by midway through AA. Went for the hanging gardens to get the early metropolis.
I've been looking through the GOTM resources and can't figure out how to make a downloaded save work.
I moved the file into the "saves" folder under conquests (its a COTM), but when i open the game it is not to be found.
Thanks!
I'm playing on windows 8, with the steam version of...
By default it isn't in the file or is set to "=1". This causes AI units to fortify when they have nothing to do, including barbarians. So essentially, by default, the barbs never actually move unless under certain circumstances. By changing it or adding NoAIPatrol=0 you get the original AI...
I usually look at the military advisor to see if I'm strong or weak against an AI. I didn't mean to do a double jump, and have since bumped down to regent. I have already seen improvement in my game.
The biggest difference I've notice since jumping from warlord is it is significantly harder...
You're right, the next time I clicked new game monarch was already selected so I must of accidentally clicked it instead. Well I lasted longer than I thought, although it was quite the challenge.
Wars definitley take a massive toll late in the game. They also seem to benefit some AI's.
Just started a new game and come to find out I went from warlord to monarch, a 2 level jump. That definitley explains the hanging-on-for-dear-life feeling I had all game.
So I turned research back on with a path set to replaceable parts. If I'm going to win this I'm going to need infantry and artillery at least. A couple turns later Rome forgives my transgressions of simply existing and allows peace to be negotiated.
I begin building infrastructure while I...
Booting up the game now. I think I'm gonna try to get peace ASAP and hope the rest of the world beats each other up while I build myself out of the hole I'm in.
So I'll go ahead and put it out there. I've always been just a casual player, and therefore only played around on the next-to-lowest difficulty. Well recently after starting to replay the game after I don't even know how long, I got bored of that and started a new game as America on the next...
No, I want to set it where they DO patrol. By default for the steam version they are set to not patrol. So I wanted to fix this. I ended up adding "NoAIPatrol=0" myself. I also set it to not play the intro as well. Very convenient file
I have the steam "complete" version of civ 3, running on windows 8. I found the conquests.ini file and am trying to find NoAIPatrol, however all i'm finding is "barbarian activity=0".
Are these the same thing? or do i need to add NoAIPatrol=0 myself?
thanks :)
