How do you reduce inflation? It keeps increasing each turn and I have no idea of what to do to lower it. Anyone?

Where do I put the custom units I download? Which folder?

Whenever I try to join a server which game's started before I connected I go up to that "Transfering data to" box, it loads and when I'm suppose to see the game screen it crashes to the desktop. How can I solve this problem?
