What's weird is that i can load certain saves, but they're at about 10 turns, still in ancient era. If i try to start something more advanced, like set up a game which start at modern era, or load a scenario or mod who do, it crashes. Might be something to do with the eras. Or another...

Ditto for me about the DX9 crashes and the lack of error message. I always have to go to the task manager and close since it stops responding. The Civ 5 application also shoots up to 50% UC and just locks there. I don't have a Win8, so i can't really talk about that...
