Eli's Civilizations of Africa & The African Diaspora

Hello All! These have been a crazy past couple of months in my life. My father is currently buying a permanent house in Winnipeg, so things have been a little crazy in the past couple of months. However, I plan to get back to modding soon.

The Bantu are way too broad, that's like doing a civ called "The Europeans". As for Madagascar. I'm not at liberty to discuss that subject more, just know that I'm doing it :crazyeye:

Well I'm planning Namibia, and Southwest Africa is as empty as you'll get.

I'm not planning an Egyptian civ, although I am planning Algeria, as well as a Libyan civ under Meryey. I don't have designs for them currently however the Libyan civ is focused on the Libu, so it will be like Ancient Egypt. As for help on Sierra Leone, what's currently needed is assistance with...

Eli's Civilizations of Africa & The African Diaspora

I love purple, and I know I chose a French esque-icon, but I just figured the fleur de-lis was too much of a symbol of the Louisiana Creoles to not use, so I used a stylized version. Honestly it was a better choice than using a Pelican like I was originally planning. There's a reason he's called...

Eli's Civilizations of Africa & The African Diaspora

Wow! Nix managed to get my hyped for my own civ with that icon! A quick question I'm leaning towards Louisiana for the civ name, because these are the Louisiana Creoles. But would anyone have any objections? Because The Creoles is a broad description, it'd be like calling a Morocco civ the...

Colonialist Legacies: Histories of the New World | Colonial + Pre-Colonial civs

I'd definitely recommend Shosholoza for Mandela's theme, it shouldn't be that hard to find. Also why are Vietnam's peace and War themes Japanese and Chinese respectively? The Trung Sister's whole purpose was to defend their Southeast Asian distinct culture from the invading Chinese and Budapest...

    Civ Languages

It's because of the possibility of a civ like the Song Dynasty founding Mandarin, and then leaving China with none. So for instance China will get Cantonese and a couple of other languages.

    Civ Languages

Hello all! Viregel and I are working and conceptualizing an idea around, we're not going to announce it yet. Although it obviously has to do with language. So I'm just curious if you are a civ modder if you can list a couple of languages per modded civ so we'll be sure to include the language...

Also two minor changes to the names of the uniques. The unit's name will be changed to Grenediyarsa, which is the Hindi word for Grenadier and the Sentinelle will be re-named to Santari, which is again the Hindi translation. Because I'm trying to go for a more modern Indian Mauritian style...

Eli's Civilizations of Africa & The African Diaspora

I know Hoop Thrower is good at this and I'm curious. Can anyone find good music for my Jamaica civ? I've looked at some instrumental reggae, but the music is probably too well known to make use of (then again the Boers Peace theme was Africa by Toto), also a War theme for Jamaica is going to be...

Eli's Civilizations of Africa & The African Diaspora

Thanks to both Scapegrace and Poom! However for Mauritius I am leaning more towards Seewoosagur Ramgoolam because he was Indian (the most populous ethnic group of Mauritius), more well known, more information on him, and also he was considered the "Father of the Nation" of Mauritius. Thanks so...
