Question: I noticed a big improvement on AI performance in BNW. I was wondering if they also applied the new AI to G&K multiplayer.
I am wondering about this because my friend did not yet purchase BNW. Furthermore vanilla civ still had very bad AI on MP compared to G&K, even after G&K was out.
Thanks for your tips.
I made an error in this game... I wanted to try and postpone building temples and then use legalism to get 4 free. Unfortunately by the time I was ready to settle my 4th city, the ai had already occupied the space I wanted to expand to (and was running around with an...
I have
10% growth
+2 gold per city
Shrines +1 happiness
+2 culter /5 followers
25% stronger prophet and 25% less faith.
I tried going to war now for a few turns. I can beat the AI easily... However 1-2 turns later I get declared war by 3 others thereby eliminating my luxury trades! A...
Hmm I must add... I played without G&K DLC and after 100 turns it turned out that:
1) the "large" map appeared to be much larger (too large actually I could fit at least 10 cities, my last G&K was max 4 cities on large with 9 players)
2) Units have 10 instead of 100 hp (forgot about that)...
You are completely right. World religion shows 39 cities for Celtic. I also found the holy city. It was Edinburgh (on my screenshot it is the white dot in green borders bottem right).
I guess this means war .
Can you build a grand temple in each city???
Looks like he has double because 2 followers=24 pressure.

Huge map with 20 city states and 12 players turn 208:
ram: 1400mb ram used (so no you do not need 8 gb)
gpu ram: 1500mb (so better graphics card helps)
cpu load: 45%
gpu load: 54%
Hardware used:
i5 2500k @4.0 Ghz
GTX 660 Ti @ 1210 Mhz (2 GB ram)
8 GB ram

Hmm tried to made an Excel but it is not accurate (G&K).
I am interested in a proper formula because I placed my cities perfectly (which means 6 hexes between them so they never overlap) thus requiring 6 maintenance per turn for 1 connection (x2 cities@ start).
I started with a small loss...
It is essential for legalism. If you wait untill you have a monument in 4 cities you will gain 4 temples. Only usefull if a monument is +- 3 turns away from completition and a additional policiy would take 30 turns.
Your rant is only true if you play on the lower difficuty levels. As soon as you start playing on normal (Prince) or higher you will quickly end up in a situation where you have (too) high upkeep cost. Early (over)expansion can really kill your game. Furthermore due to restrictions in happyness...
If you want an easy civ with a large empire I would recommend Rome. The UA is a production bonus for each building already present in your capitol. Furthermore the legionaire is a unit that I personally found to have a nice timing... Just when I am about to get caught up in wars I have unlocked...
I have a bordering nation that has unsually high pressure. +48,+56 and +72. Lowest city size 3.
For my own cities the rule I found on this forum seems to apply (holy city=30+6x*number of cities). Thus the city on my edge has only +6.
How can the ai push over 48 in a border city? He does...
