I guess I wanted to make the ocean less empty and just add two-three tiny islands to make it more interesting (Islands of size 3 tiles, not landmasses). I guess I misunderstood that part. I am not sure if it conflicts with the amount of lakes that I set (few).
Also, thank you for reply and...
The maps are awesome however it crashes half of the times. i tried to make a map with this configuration:
large
12 CS
one less civ than default
no wrap
two ocean rifts
two medium seas
no continents
few islands
few lakes
two medium seas
damp, new, cold
land on poles - yes
realistic - yes

I wanted to note that civilizations are not so much binded to eras, it is the leaders. So one civ can have two leaders from different eras.
High Medieval Era is probably the most interesting for me.
There should be another consideration added when adding Civs.
Obviously, Classical Era is...
The game is already highly enjoyable, and modding community is thriving, but I don't know, better watch some gameplay videos before buying, instead of reading forum responses.
I believe that essential, or classical, civs are civilizations that actually started in Ancient Era. Therefore USA is not classical civ, Rome Greece China, Egypt are classical for sure. Sumeria, Persia are classical.
Also, as a second definition, I would look at Age of Empires 2 civilizations...
I don't talk about myself but I think overreacting is something that loyal players and modders have right to do. They have also put a soul in it.
And if casual players are ok with current state of AI, it is because they are unaware of its shallowness. I would seriously recommend everybody...
Yes, but the introduction of more cartoony characters together with already cartoony art style made me worried that the game will deflect in the wrong direction. Ages and governors make the game more rpg than competition. But it might be only my perception
These are different game genres. Civ 4 was the franchise's peak in terms of war-gaming. I think it is relatively easy to fix this gameplay weakness by somehow boosting AI's units power specifically when they are attacking player's city (Reducing bombardment power; reducing player's city health...
The way I understand it, Firaxis (or 2K) have pushed the serious community behind the scenes (compared to civ 3 and 4) and let them play with their mods, while themselves focusing on attracting casual players with this "alternative history" thing.
I believe that with the advanced and smart AI...
539. You think you are the smartest one (for those who don't play higher than prince).
540. You believe that discovering a technology is not an achievement and just a matter of time. :rolleyes:
That is not an excuse for a game that has gathered such a big audience and sold so many copies! Especially after you see that modders managed to do it. Firaxis just don't respect their community enough and expects us to always act like elementary students who would get high from Disney style...
I have one suggestion regarding fighting with AI. The idea is, to allow at some point, when war between you and AI starts, change the game type to multiplayer (for example, hotseat) to let another human play for that AI. Then back to SP.
There is no need for Civ 6, if the AI won't improve. Also some suggestions:
- more customization, like units class tree in BE;
- better city screens;
- events;
- maybe some village system;
- cities should grow beyond one tile;
- maybe there should be some fantasy scenario, like Age of Ice;
-...
