Bad news: Those kind of viaul bugs tend to be signs of a graphics card dying. How old is it?
Check temperatures (90-100 degree celsius might be critcal (depending on the model),
check if the fans are spinning, maybe de-dust the card, fans and/or the whole computer.
I think it's pretty normal, but it becomes nearly irrelevant when you play on very high difficulties, because then the AI has lots of cities and growth and usually more governors than you to compensate.
I do see it happening though between two AIs even on higher difficulties (because the other...
actually, I completely forgot the free settler panthenon existed... getting that must be by far the best option on marathon, so working the FOY first does make a lot of sense.
I think I'd try for the olive settlement and go for a scout as quickly as possible (so 1f 3p), since units act just normal whereas growth etc goes much slower.
I guess that also means the deity AI starting units provide a much more significant advantage (in the early game) than they do on...

Even though I started really early with my Holy Site and picked the...
Random observation: Isn't it weird that the AAR thread has nearly been viewed as much as the announcement? I mean people should be aware by now what the AAR thread is for :cringe:
Anyway... I feel like there are some typos in this ( ;) ).
And I'm confused as to why this Rome game is happening...
What was wrong with the other GotM100 Menelik game? Can we submit for both of them? There is no explanation in neither of the threads of what is happening here
I think settling the marble is an option too.
Maybe I should test settling the capital without fresh water nor on the coast before in a different game to see how crippling it actually is (it's probably a bad idea if your goal is a victory other than religious).
