If you look at all the steam threads its a bunch of people being super and I mean really super paranoid about something they know nothing about. Pretty much every problem with it that they listed has 0 chance of happening.
The only I want to know is why people are complaining that its not Civ 4.5? It was never advertised as Civ 4.5 so why do you complain when thats not what they release.
Religion resulted in having permanent allys that would love you and just sit there waiting for you to backstab them. How is that fun? How is that balanced?
I love how paranoid the Civ community is compared to other communitys  "All the reviewers were paid off" "Steam is gonna take away my games and collect data from me" "They are all being forced to say this"
They ignore the fact that these kinds of things rarely ever happen , that steam is...
You know what streamlining is right? Its taking away unnessecary clutter. The only reason I can see people not liking CiV and the only thing I see them complaining about is lack of micro management. Civ has never been about micromanagement and unfortunately for you I doubt they will ever go back...
Hell the Civ4 AI has always been much worse. CiV AI may suck at combat right now but at least theres potential for patches. The CiV4 AI could only go for culture victory (They would pick up space parts at random so its not really them trying to win).
