I have now downloaded and installed the very latest version of direct x 9c----Intro movie still stutters and freezes!!

Intro movie now jerks and after a short time freezes but not always in the same place. It used to play allright! When later stages of game reached crashes start and then become more and more frequent untill i have to save after every turn just to finish the game!! dxdiag attached

Your auto saves are stored in a folder labelled auto. When you click on 'load saved game' click on the + sign next to the saves folder then click on the + sign next to the single folder. you will then see the auto saves folder, just click on it. oh and by the way, I have the same trouble with...

I have been playing civ 4 for a couple of months now & I think its pretty good. The only trouble is I find that in the later stages of the game when there are a lot of units it tends to crash rather a lot. Maybe I will find the answer here!!
