It should run fine (British Windows XP is not different from American Windows XP!) but be aware that Amazon UK will only ship games to addresses within Europe. Similarly Amazon US won't ship software outside North America. Few big European retailers are willing to ship games out of the Europe...

Have you updated your copy of civilization with the latest patch from the firaxis website? Several of the updates dealt with bugs in the tutorial.

Does this edition come with a full printed manual or is the game manual a pdf file on the dvd?
