How steep is the learning curve?

I have never really been into sci fi, but I am a fan of Civ, and a lot of people say this game is amazing. Is it still worth buying?

I am at war with them, I thought that was the problem at first (as it was saying the same thing before I declared war) but war has since been declared and it still says it.

Im new to Civ 2, I can't attack a city because of "Zones of Control" what do I do to attack the city?

yeah I liked CivRev, I just wish it was for PC

i bought civ revolution on the app store last night and played it for about 6 hours, I was in love and wanted to play more. what civ game would you recommened? I played Civ5, and I didn't enjoy it as much, I am torn between Civ4 and Civ Rev for Xbox, what do you recommend?
