    Is being gay a choice?

Well, I don't define normal by what is the majority, and I don't believe that everything which deviates from normal is wrong. Some stuff that is done by the majority of people is wrong, and some things which aren't normal are perfectly fine.

    Is being gay a choice?

Both sides are correct and incorrect in this debate, depending on whose definition we follow. If we define 'homosexuality' as the actions which one takes, then MobBoss is correct in saying that homosexuality is a choice. It would be incorrect to say that one has no control over their actions...

    Ooops. Snickers upsets 'teh gay'

I think this is the important thing that people forget. There's a website attached to this ad, which is much more homophobic. The ad itself, however, appears to make fun of homophobic stereotypes more than it does of homosexual stereotypes.

    Will you buy Vista ?

OS X is based on a UNIX architecture, so the leap shouldn't be so big. But I'll be dual-booting linux/OS X anyway, and which one I use more will depend on which will work better for my needs. OS X has the appeal of having plenty of good audio software, plus the actual macbook hardware and design...

    Do you support gay marriage.

The findings are anecdotal, so of course there will be many possible explanations. It does, however, seem to confirm general knowledge about people who show abnormal distaste for homosexuality (at least publicly).

Whats the worst kind of music.. that you just cant stand!

It's what I'm here for. To ruin everyone's fun! And I hadn't heard about the Blondie thing. Then again, I don't listen to rap, or Blondie, so I wouldn't have a clue either way.

    Do you support gay marriage.

nonconformist: Someone's done a study of it: NIH PubMed entry PDF of research and results Its an interesting read. Homophobic and non-homophobic men viewed pornographic videos, heterosexual, lesbian and male homosexual. The most interesting part - in the homophobic group, 20% showed no...

Whats the worst kind of music.. that you just cant stand!

Can you really claim that a genre of music was invented by a single person? Every form of music is a product of its context, both cultural and musical. The evolution of certain genres of music from harmonically-oriented composition to rhythmically-oriented composition was pretty gradual, and...

    Do you support gay marriage.

Why does this topic always get so heated? Look, everyone has a different idea of what is right, and what is wrong. We can spend forever trying to get one to adopt the others' concept of morality, but it sure isn't going to solve any disputes. I am never going to accept that gay marriage is...

Whats the worst kind of music.. that you just cant stand!

Rap isn't music? Since when? Sure, many people don't think it is 'good' music, but since when have they been the ultimate opinion above all others? I listen to a bit of free jazz, and other experimental music. It doesn't have a beat, it doesn't have a melody, its just sounds placed over time...

    Will you buy Vista ?

Casual computer users won't see the need to upgrade what is an already perfectly fine copy of Windows XP. Many are getting macs anyway, because they are a lot more clean and easy to use. Advanced users are already toying around with linux, and see little need to pay for features they can...

Whats the worst kind of music.. that you just cant stand!

Pop. a.k.a music that is spoon-fed to you. Buying music just because it is on the charts, and advertised on TV = bleh.

What were your thoughts on the iraq war before it actually happened?

I can't believe I posted this thread back in 2003. If the 'today' me went back and talked to the 'then' me, I'd tell the young chap to grow a brain and stop being so naive. I'd also tell him to check his spelling more thoroughly. Portary, WMOD and distabilise? What was I thinking? EDIT: Can't...

    Do humans have free will?

A rhetorical question: Describe an instance of 'free will' that you have had. List the factors, influences and experiences that led to the path that you took. Consider your power in creating those factors, influences and experiences. Was their ultimate cause that of your own 'free will', or...
