I've also had Civ since Civ I in the early 90s; and I also play a LOT. I've loved Civ VI too,
I also have not bought Civ VII yet; because so many posters have flamed it, but also because it looks horrifyingly close Kin to Humankind, which I gave up on after about 20 hours.
For all the same...
Having dropped in for the first time in ages and having read all of the above;
My decision (as a Veteran of '91 I might add) not to buy until at least the end of Summer '25 appears vindicated!
In Civ VI I play huge maps with at least 16 civ's, epic or Marathon, and reading through recent posts it may well be a 2026/7 start for me on Civ VII as well!
Fair enough.
All I'll say is I lamented no WWII scenario on these forums a while back - and my post was deleted for the first time ever!
*SNIP* Please take your politics elsewhere like Off-Topic. forum. It is not acceptable in the gaming forums and is tantamount to trolling. Thank you - lymond
After reading the articles Dale linked to, (Thank You Dale!)
My worst suspicions about Denuvo have been at the very LEAST echoed, and I'm also slightly chagrined now by the pompous condescension I've had
raising concerns about it.......
I want to love it, I want to be stoked about it - I should be;
But The echoes of HK really startled me, the civ switching, then seeing how leaders are represented (I hated that in HK)
Then the Denuvo thing - how do Modders fix stuff?
I'm a "light" 3 and I should be a 10. I want to be a 10...
My point is, if someone like me with 9800 happy (mostly!) hours of Civ VI is going to wait for Denuvo to be dropped from Civ VII,
Well, its not a good look, is it?
Read Kwami's posts again.
It is well documented on forums here and Reddit of expensive SSD replacement drives needed from over-taxing by Denuvo?
Search if you don't believe me.
I do bow to your obvious knowledgability on Software uses - so that may not be as worrying as I first thought....
