Your highness, if you don’t like the company then don’t buy their products. Software is complex and is getting more so. Most games, and a lot of other software, does not work on all systems when first released. Doing so is getting more and more difficult. With software, there is always the...

Yea. Check out the manual. It has many other ‘little’ tidbits like this. I actually like the new interface. It took a little getting use to. But now that I have, I find that it is quite useful.

Is that why other people are experiencing slow games? I haven’t cared for your world map so mine works well.

I like your reasoning. I have purchased games in the past in which some options were not available to me because of my system. I some cases, like RRT2, I could make trade offs in graphics options. I could have better graphics and a small slow game, or I could increase speed and/or map size if I...

The press release only said that it would come out “shortly”. It never gave a date.

I would like to see a game with subclasses like you mentioned. But unfortunately the game was simplified by generalizing many of the classes. And how do you pick the attributes for the class? You pick examples that are common and representative, or ones that exist for any subclass and work for...

I like your last paragraph. It is an interesting thought. I haven’t read the strategy or game balance threads yet. I was guessing that people were complaining about seeing horses before they had any use (besides planning city location). My point is that the only benefit to knowing where...

According to the Civilopedia you need both The Wheel and Horses to build a Chariot. Horses aren’t available as a strategic resource until a Pasture is built. But The Wheel gives you roads on which to pull the carts you build. (People pull the carts.)

Elephants were hunted for their ivory tusks before they were domesticated. Thus they provide +1 Production when worked and with camp, working provides +1 Production and +1 Commerce as well as being a strategic resource.

I disagree. I think the release time was appropriate. Yes there were problems. But what percentage of the user base experienced them? I went looking for solutions to a very minor problem that I was having. Otherwise it would have been another month or two before I went looking for strategy...

I also don’t believe that there is a major memory leak. But if there was a memory leak, your method might not reveal it. Memory leaks occur when code allocates memory and then fails to release it when done. If you never use the function that leaks memory, then you will never see it. Your test...

Stone provides +1 production when worked right from the beginning. It was used by the earliest known civilizations. After Masonry, putting a Quarry on it, working it will give +2 Production, and +1 Commerce, and will cut the cost of some wonders.

    Patch News!

From what I see, it looks like horse provide nothing until improved with a pasture. Corn will provide +1 food when worked, even without improving the site with a farm. Oil will provide +1 production after Scientific Method provides the knowledge and then with Plastics you can build an offshore...

I have seen the same thing with earlier games. My crashes had come when about the same number of cities/units had been created. I had to use smaller maps to finish games until I increased my RAM.
