@Mylene What EQ server do you play on? I haven't bought the expansion yet for any of my accounts, been busy, but plan to soon when I have time.

    Protecting cannons from cavalry

Cavalry are the best units of their time, and in fact have uses beyond. While I have not gone the cav/bomber route yet I hear that it is viable, but I have used cav/airship (spies as necessary) and found it to be very effective against rifle garrisons.

    What is this city?

Looks like an excellent production city. Later on use windmills, watermills, and farms as necessary to maximize its potential.

When all my cities are commerce...

Early game--chop, farm, and whip. Mid-game can add workshops, but don't be afraid to keep mostly farms for whipping unis for fast Oxford and/or a cav/cuir war, which is the best "burst" production even at this point. Late game allows for mass workshop/watermill, especially with state...

Can you provide a link to the Jao noble club? I'm interested in checking it out.

Help! I think I've forgotten how to run a cottage economy.

If the city is all grasslands and no food sources there are a couple different ways to utilize it: 1. Farm the entire place (may have to wait for CS) and use it as a whipping post to make infrastructure, units, missionaries, etc. Later on you can workshop/watermill as necessary for prod...

    Do you build monastaries?

I build monasteries for a couple different reasons: culture, spreading religion(s), AP clout, AP/UniSank/DivineRightWonder bonuses. Although I can't remember the last time I build the DR wonder.

Help! I think I've forgotten how to run a cottage economy.

Riverside cottage capital + bur + academy + oxford = great research. Depending on the situation, the capital is often the only city you will need to build any cottages in, but often an additional riverside cottaged city is helpful. Or if you are isolated, or plan to stay peaceful for a time...

Role Play Challenge, The Next Generation: Sid Meier, The Civilized Tyrant

Someone mentioned getting Sid's Sushi, and while that would be nice from a RPC standpoint, I would think that it would limit you to occupying 2 continents due to maintenance costs in Free Market (Palace on home continent; Forbidden Palace on 2nd continent). If you plan to keep cities after...

    Beeline steel or rifling?

I prefer mass whipped cuir or cavs. Fast wars allow taking several cities in the first few turns of the war, which means less resistance. Spy revolts aided by the slider, if necessary, take care of hilltop cities and any city that the AI decides to mass stockpile units into. Can also take out...

    Full of Resources Playthrough

I would have settled capitol on the banana to get a 3f city square because IMO the extra 1 food will help with grabbing land right now, rather than later when calendar comes around. Also would have settled your third city 1 west on the ivory to get the fish. Interesting map--looking forward to...

    I just rolled this start...

I think settle capital 1E, use as GP farm since it will be higher pop and need the fresh water bonus. Can then fit globe theater to the west.
