Thanks CS.
Iin CivIV when I could see all techs the team was researching when I went into the tech tree it made it easier for us to decide more rapidly as to the best course of action with regards to research. We still talked about it, but it would make life easier if I could see his...
You can hit control+s which will bring up the save game and save the game anytime you want with any name you want. However, to load that game and continue it, you will have to rename the file with the prefix Autosave_ (look at the file names of the autosaves to ensure yours matches) prior to...
With regards to the ping...people might have been idiots about using it, but I would assume that more players used it properly. Plus, the MP games I play are just me and a friend or two as a team against the AI, so there are no "idiots" that could spam ping, other than us, and we are careful...
I agree on the "Yet." Pinging and being able to see a teammate's research are key to making MP smoother and more enjoyable. It's a bit of a pain in the butt to have to continually ask over voice chat what my friend is researching. Here's hope the MP patch will fix this.
Ori,
Sorry to bother you as wel, but could you move my thread http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=381505 into the multiplayer subforum for Civ5. I created it at work and didn't even notice the multiplayer subforum while posting. Thanks!
I looked all over and could not find any answers to these questions anywhere.
First, is there any way to ping a tile for a teammate like you could in Civ IV? My friend and I looked all over for a ping function and could not find it. Let's hope that pinging will be added in via a patch or the...
Just a heads up, I was playing MP last night and you have the autosave functionality, yes, but you can also save MP games to the Steam Cloud. Yes. Steam Cloud saving in MP is an option. I'm at work right now, but I'd be willing to post a screenshot later if people want to see for themselves...
Okay. I was just responding to the negative connotation using dumbed down to simplified, I guess. I do agree with you that Civ5 is nowhere near the simplification levels of CivRev. Firaxis, IMO, took lessons from CivRev and applied them to a PC version of Civ, and I feel that's a good thing...
Thank you Lancor, I felt many people were missing that.
I take some offense to that. Remember that CivRev was an experiment led by Sid himself to try and make a complex strategy game viable and playable on a console. I think CivRev succeeded, to be honest. The advisors were a bit annoying as...
I will be playing Rome first as I want to see how powerful their Unique Ability actually is. Then I might go to either Germany, America or Babylon. Either way, can't wait till tomorrow!
I'd like to see America played to see how their Manifest Destiny trait plays out in the early game. If I had a second choice, however, I'd agree with Germany. Seeing as the AI folks mentioned Germany specifically in Podcast 8 as having a "aggressive" bonus, so it might be interesting to see it...
It would have been cool if it was Patrick Stewart doing the tech quotes in cIV (or V for that matter), but in IV it definitely was Spock himself doing the quotes (until we got new techs in the expansion packs). Listen again, there is no British accent for the tech quotes (which there would be if...
Thanks for the response. I guess the next question everyone will want to know is if the DLC is "exclusive" to D2D or will just be free with their purchase and the rest of us would have to purchase it. I know you probably don't know yet, but that question is worth asking as we learn more...
I'm in the US. Whenever I click subscribe via the Civilization V Community Podcast in the iTunes Store it gives me an error in my podcast list that says the url is not valid. Who knows.
