It's true tough, space race ain't the same anymore.
I'm wondering why they "streamlined" it that way. No more adding more thrust to make it arrive before 5000AD and that sort of stuff...
How unrealistic is it that every space mission succeeds? Was Apollo XIII just...
@bobgate: Thanks. You're right about it usually not being the ai who's catching up. Normally it's us, at 1/1.67 the ai's research rate
What do you mean by trigger-happy civs? Never heard of that:confused:
Hope that doesn't put me into the newbie section ;)
Isn't the research value modified by the quotient (No. of civs in total)/((No. of civs who got the tech)+1). Reducing the nominator should then make techs cheaper for...
Sometimes I just can't be bothered to "walk the last mile" to this remote island where the opponent's last city is...
The immediate end of resistance. however, is a good argument for doing so. Will try it next time
Do you guys usually finish off civs in an early stage or just take profitable cities, wonders and everything which can be pried loose and leave them with one sole city and a one-pixel power bar?
Should have an effect on the science race, does anyone include this aspect? Does it make much of a...
IMHO their huge drawback is that you trigger your GA way too early with Impis. I like my GA much later, preferably in Modern Ages (strong point for the Germans and their Panzers :soldier: ), but find militaristic always tough to play on Emperor or Deity...
I agree. However, it seems almost like too much of an advantage that they get upgraded from the warrior. Thankgod the AI doesn't seem to know that, at least they don't seem to make too much of it.
The pet idea sounds like a nice concept, but I really doubt it works on higher levels. On Emperor or Deity you'll have a pretty hard time especially against the Babylonians (at least if you play the Persians and activate culturally linked starting positions), don't think it's possible to isolate...
don't get this whole bomber and jet fighter business anyway. what's the point in having them promoted? harder to intercept? can't see them fighting anyway:confused:
Don't think that is ever going to get changed, because GLs are a great asset for ground combat. IMHO no one would ever make use of naval armies. Or do you mean to create a normal GL?
I usually play pangea, so i hardly ever build sea units. I think it's a major problem for the English (having...
Culture flipping still remains a strange subject. I had a looong common borderline with the zulu (me playing the scientific persians) and we were constantly disdainful of their so-called achievements. Not a single flip for more than 3000 years until I lost patience and whiped them out in two...
Don't think that is possible. How would he ever get away from a coastal, sea or ocean square? Privateers can't transport units, so Great Leaders would need to be great swimmers as well :D
