We have a warrior, scout and worker? Is this intentional? Scout or goes 2W to the hill there. Warrior goes NE to see what's around and th see the hill N,NW. If nothing interesting is found worker and settler explore SE, SW.
Perhaps we find enough gold for Tre Kronor? Or at least there's wood...
Even more generous is the Rathaus: -75% maintenance with all of one city to benefit from it.
By the way, can we ever build the Versailles in this game?
EDIT: Congrats Sweden! Finally part of NATO. Welcome brothers.:high5:[party]:band::viking::deal::cowboy::grouphug:
What's shuffle map again? Too :old: to remember.
If everyone else have all the ancient techs then it won't take long for the barbs to have them too.
Random events must be on since they aren't listed as off.
I tried downloading the contender save but got only
"Sorry, file saves/gotm70264/civ4botm264contender.CivBeyondSwordSave is not available."
Further inspection showed the adventurer save was also unavailable, only the challenger save was there.
If I thought this was intentional I'd think "Fine, I...
Well I'll be damned. I guess trade routes need only adjacent squares, never mind if there's an actual connection. Thanks for this piece of information.
Might try this until it becomes hopeless. Mortals don't play immortal without facing mortal consequences.
Will definitely settle 1W, just don't see the point in anything else. Sure, it would be marbleous to settle on marble but a non-coastal capital would unduly frustrate Raggy when his Zekers...
A new record for wasted opportunities. Lost Oracle CS slingshot by about 2 turns. Ultra low expansion. I really should stop playing Civ4 and die. Well I'll give it some time :old: ⚰️...
This is Noble, I'd lose a turn or several to get a good capital site. Of course I won't be competing with the best for earliest win, just against the AI that on Noble will (hopefully) be almost as incompetent as I am.
I'll let the warrior scout some first. Is that a forested grassland...
First NW gets you to the forest tile and the second (next turn) to the freshwater lake. Hygiene is important. Instead of bathing my scout gets shower with the daily rain of the rainforest.
Monty Zuma and the holed grail? Ni!-id I say more? Why is this emperor level, it's the Count of Monty Cristo?
Please don't consider this cheeky.:scared:
I think I'll scout E then climb the silver, just to make sure no seafood lurks there. Took me a while to notice it's salty water there...
Maybe Fine_Distinction meant chained 1-tile lakes on the map. I'd say diagonally adjacent water never add up to a sea. If you can't sail anything from a 'coast' tile to another then they aren't part of the same body of water. Game treats diagonal lake/land connections always as land connections...
