Thanks for the replies. Now only one thing is worrying me. I read through a couple of posts and noted that there may be some performance issues (waiting your turn, computer lagging, etc) in Civ3 Conquests so I am a little hesitant. Do you think this is mainly to having big maps and many civs...

thanks for such a quick reply! from your answer i gather conquests has more tribes, terrain, challenges, etc. it's probably worth it since once we start playing it's pretty much impossible to stop. once again thanks!
