I had the same problem, so after a suggestion here tried just leaving the disk in the drive for ages & after about 15 - 20mins it suddenly recognised it and installed fine. However, every time I want to play I have to go through the same recognition process

I've got Nero - Burning Rom. The drive is a DVD Rom drive, the writer is a separate drive. Will try turning off other programmes as you suggested
