This would create new tactical options, because you could garrison tiles with good defense (hills with forests, forests...) with only 1 or 2 units and use the rest to overwhelm the enemy in another part of the front line.
It is called combined arms and has been used since Alexander the...
I plaid till 116BC now as Zama works now. Only the Carthaginian cities in Italy remained theirs (should be given back to Rome).
Thing worth of mentioning are:
1. Hannibal was smarter this time. He didn't foll for the usual trap of sieging a city with moenia and my entire army in it.
2...
I have it to gringoesteban. If I try to run a map the game crashes.
When I was looking at the folder later, I found out that most of the files are missing (there are now XML files, now python files...)! I have downloaded two times so it is not a bad download.
>Map change
I was more thinking about moving some cities for example many of the cities near Rhine and Danube are on the wrong side of it. They should be moved so they can be incorporated into limes.
I have a map of barbarian invasions during the crisis of the 3rd century if it helps...
>Map
If you want to make the map more historical accurate then you will need to make many changes. I have a book with some good maps of the roman empire (cities, natural resources, religions and the fall of the empire) so I can help.
>Blocked path
Maybe if you script movement tile by tile...
I didn't play the 275BC map further then the second Punic war, because it didn't work and I didn't want to mess with wordbuilder or python so I wouldn't broke any other events. It worked fine up to it.
I did play the 200AD map to around 312AD when I crushed the revolts.
Plymerian revolt...
>Rivers
I can try it.
Another way is to gave a unit that comes near a river a special promotion with python. But what would the promotion do? In CIV4PromotionInfos you can only specify if the units ignore rivers or not or is it possible to add a new tag to CIV4PromotionInfos?
>Vista...
>Rivers
How about making to types of rivers. Normal rivers that give 25% bonus and large rivers (like Rhine and Danube) that gave 50% bonus.
I have some free time now so I can help to if you want PStew.
Maybe I could edit the formations info. We were talking about this long time ago but...
>Terrain
To the changes I would add:
-20% hill and forest strength for phalanx units (Macedonian phalanx, Ptolemite phalanx, all hoplites...) as they only have the advantage as long as their line is not broken
-10% hill attack for cavalry as they need to charge to be effective and it is hard...
The un-do's trade route doubling building don't works correctly. Many city have 0 trade routes after the building is added to the city. When I removed the un-do's trade route doubling building from the city with 0 trade routes with wordbuilder the city had 3 trade routes. So the city with the...
Finlay, it is fixed :) ! Now I can get some fun out of 200AD map.
Anyway, I was reading a book about Celts (also called Gauls) when my family and me were on the seaside this week and the first part of the book was about wars between Rome and Cisalpine Gauls. With all the events in that time...
>> 2. I think via publicae is a little to expensive at least for legio 1 and 2. 24 turns for one tile is a little to much if you ask me (fore one legion)
Yes, the road expansion was slow initially. The wikipedia page gives some dates, but many have none listed. To mimic this the work rate...
Plaid till 193BC so far.
1. Can't get past second Punic war. Even the new rfre.py file don't help.
2. I think via publicae is a little to expensive at least for legio 1 and 2. 24 turns for one tile is a little to much if you ask me (fore one legion).
