    Bootcamp?

That same fan problem doesn't happen in OSX? Is it a driver issue? Or one of those mobile/power usage management "features" of the MBP? That would be hilarious if Apple built a computer that can only use the graphics at full power if the processor is running cool or vice versa. Not so hilarious...

    National wonders and required buildings

Honestly, the Heroic Epic is one main reason I pretty much always play Russia. The other three reasons are their UA, UB, and UU. I tend to play pretty defensively until the Industrial Era, and Cossacks remain solid defensive units until the Modern Era, and I think the 15% Combat Bonus...

    Post-Lion slow (in bootcamp?!)

Alan appears to be right. Apple just sent out a Lion Update which updates bootcamp with some Windows support, specifically hardware support. "Also, Boot Camp got a small update for Windows 7 (version 3.3). The 200MB download includes critical bug fixes and hardware support. It is recommended...

    We Slip Further Behind

We've got the free cultural building in the first four cities. We don't have the other one or the finishers or anything. But Legalism has been that since our last patch, which was four(?) months ago.

[TSL] Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack

No more Civs between Russia and Germany, but tons of City-States. Vienna, Ragusa, Warsaw, add a Kiev, throw in a Prague, maybe a few down in the Caucuses. My main problem with the map is miniscule, and to do with the map itself, not the TSL. There's no Neva River for St Petersburg. You have Lake...

Trouble starting Civ 5 PC version on Mac.

I have the same card. It does work, but only with everything at minimum, and even then it can be a little laggy. And I play the the Aspyr ported version of Civ 5. Actually, I think we have the same computer: at least the stats except the HDD are the same.

How many hours have you played Mac Civ5?

557, but I haven't played in at least a week, if not two.

Why haven't we received Denmark yet?

On higher difficulty levels the AI gets more than one unit. I think it goes up as the difficulty level goes up.

[TSL] Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack

Thanks for the mod, it's pretty spectacular. And thanks to Haravikk for the Mac notes.

    Version 1.0.1.275a Available

The Steam store still only has the windows icon for Denmark and the maps. That's probably one reason it isn't showing up for you.

    civ 5 on 2G CPU

@cww2: I have the 9400M on my late 2009 iMac. (3.06 GHz C2D) I can play with all graphics settings on minimum at standard map/time settings. I do have 4GB of RAM, which probably helps. It does stutter, but is definitley playable. Course I do intend to upgrade, I just want a little more money first.

    Version 1.0.1.221a Available

Works great for me. Free worker! Free great person makes up for losing the library in early game.

    Civ 5 controls for Mac

Zooming in and out is page up and page down. If you're a laptop I imagine the function enabled versions should work. I guess all the new Mac products don't require a ctrl+click, as even the trackpads can have a 'right click' area. I still use an ancient trackball I found in an abandoned office...

    Patch 1.0.1.217

One would hope they only roll in the hot patch or small updates. I've no idea how small a Korea localization update would be, but it doesn't seem like it significantly alters gameplay. Like, say if Firaxis released a giant patch in the middle of April, I'd hope we get the current one before they...

Issue on playing Mac and Windows versions on same machine

I don't remember an authorization email; Steam gave me a pop up window with an authorization code. I imagine that's what he's referring to. If you have neither, I don't understand how you ever played the game. I would hope they have it on records somewhere at Steam, but it did say that 'you must...
