In the good ol' days "patches" often actually added content and functionality to a game that was already working minus a few minor bugs. And I still download stuff manually, such as mods. //edit Witcher 2 actually did that quite recently which was awesome btw.

In the good old days there was none of this pre-order nonsense or DLC cash milking and we liked it that way. *harrumph* I don't remember getting any pre-oder bonuses with my copy of that game. Probably just regional thing.

Civ MMO? Ah, gotcha gotcha. Ding up to the future era, then settle in the part of the world that has PvP enabled to farm unique buildings and wonders. Ofc there is a slight problem with the concept. MMO's don't have an ending where as a civ game is all about getting there.
