    Opening Honour?

Basically Honor assumes that you will be going out and conquering your way to victory. If you're not constantly at war, you're not getting the benefit from honor. And therein lies the problem. You can never be constantly at war if you're playing at the right skill level. At some point your...

    Holy crap!

Gee...that sounds familiar for some reason.

Urgent! I am in trouble. Russia can't lose though, right?

It really depends. If you're playing as a total dictator then go ahead and wipe them out. But you get a TON of negative rep with other civs for doing this. So the question is whether or not you care about what the AI thinks of you.

    Airplane limit per city

I have to give especial props to adsin's idea about different buildings giving unique combat bonuses. Would certainly make playing defense more interesting.

Play GOTY first or go straight to Gods and Kings?

If money isn't a concern get G&K It's just Civ 5 improved, not like there's some storyline to get through.

    Alexander? Really?

Some people just can't be reasoned with. Germany is my personal buddy, any time I see them it'll only end in tears one way or another.

    Civ 5 Korea Strategy

Korea has always been a favorite of mine. Generally I prefer to base my strategy around the environment, but with Korea you should either be science focused or using the science bonus for expansion. Having a tech advantage is just strong enough that it blends well with any victory type.

    How should I play England?

Sotl is pretty weaksauce, there's no real getting around it. I don't really like it even from a flavor perspective. England has always had a strongly dominant financial sector, and I liked the stock exchange in IV much better. As everyone else has said, controlling the seas is never hard...

    The "What is China?" Thread

For someone that only does Civ 4 for multiplayer, can you clarify that? I get the lancers, but not CKN.

    How to counter Longswordsman beeline?

It's not. They're still a powerhouse, but not to the extent they were before. Strongest thing to do if you know they're going nuts for Steel is to build the great wall. Melee gets hammered by seige and archers when they can only move one tile per turn. Throw in a few horse units and you can...

One thing that bugs me about China...

You can certainly do that, but that radically changes the core of the game. It's a simple fact that Civ as a series covers thousands of years of history and tends to focus more on high level concepts rather then details. Not complaining, mind you, I love Civ and Paradox games pretty equally...

    Civ DLC's

I don't mind DLC as a concept. The ones I got for Mass Effect 2 were money well spent, not highly priced and added real content to the game. I haven't bought any of the Civ DLC though, save Mongolia (free!) and Babylon (wanted the soundtrack, money well spent I think). I just think $5 is...

    Do Ranged Units Need Attention/Fixing?

I don't think I've ever seen the AI get a ranged unit with indirect fire.

One thing that bugs me about China...

I vote we make the capital of China Taipei. 'Cause, y'know, controversy is fun! Seriously though, something like this never bothers me. Civ is always a little more "gamey" then realistic, and Beijing is the recognized capital of China these days. Get something like Europa Universalis 3 or...

Rusty skills...getting back on the wagon

I used Bibor's when I was teaching a friend of mine how to play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtA_mlM5fbs&feature=BFa&list=PLFBF644F6DCA4131A&lf=results_main Really though if you're a Civ 4 vet you should be able to jump in without to much difficulty.
