Pretty much everyone agrees the best unique units are Quecha/Immortal/War Chariot/Fast Worker/Praetorian/Conq, but I'm more curious how people would rank the rest of them. I'd maybe put the Hwatcha next cause Koreans are my fav civ :)
Terrace is best building, after that in no particular order...
heh yeah they always want you to switch to environmentalism. I actually had to look up what it does and holy cow is it terrible. I can't possibly imagine a scenario where it'd be the best eco civic. In some cases you probably just straight up lose the game if your forced into that.
I've always wanted to try a huge marathon game like this cause I like playing with corps but then I decide against it cause I only play normal speed and I can't be bothered learning how marathon works lol, is it that much different from normal?

this whole discussion looks stupid because trying to compare different approaches on such a short timeframe is pointless. there's tradeoffs with different approaches but which one is better depends on how good of a position you'd be in if you played on to say 1AD. I could build only settlers and...

an old botm with genghis, I had an army of triple-promoted cuirs and my target peace-vassaled to the superpower ai the exact turn I was going to attack, exited straight to desktop

pretty sure this is impossible to beat current record of t49 using catherine. They founded 9 cities total (one settler from hut) along with having creative trait, it's just impossible to get that many settlers that fast without IMP or huts. Since it's only warlord you'll be extremely lucky to...
Why though? How are you supposed to guess which specific action you're doing is wrong and what specific action you should be doing instead, without seeking outside guidance? That sounds like an incredibly time-consuming and inefficient way to improve at anything.
