A real Italian Civ would be great, but I wouldn’t mind Venice coming back either. Although, I’m sure they would be harder to get working in VI.

We would still be missing Venice or Italy. I would rather see them over Vietnam. Otherwise, the list is perfect to me.

That’s how I thought about it. The expansion is primarily focused on modern/future times, so it is perfectly fine to throw some modern civ in the mix. I feel the Aztecs fill up any space Mexico would have. Cuba or Gran Columbia would be much more interesting.

I think they are doing the opposite of Rise and Fall. Instead of revealing returning civs fist, they are showing off all the new ones. Phoenicia is a good transition into returnees because it is a new civ with an old leader, so that is my guess.

Hungary is a replacement for Austria, and you can argue that Nubia is an Ethiopian replacement.

I feel the same. I'n not against colonial civs entirely, but there are so many better civs to choose from.

We are definitely getting 18 new general units on top of the 9 unique ones considering it listed under “new additional content”, and they already listed the unique units under a different section. It basically they same way they announced the new general units in Rise and Fall.
