Well, joy of joys! Problem resolved with SP1 for Windows XP. I decided what the heck, I'd redo my machine in hopes of SP1 resolving the issue. Civ3 works like a charm now if I load XP onto my system via a normal XP CD instead of via Compaq's quick recovery.!

I wasn't coming down either pro or con on what the IDF did. All I was trying to get across is that using the ICC as a source of legitimacy for ones claims is foolish. They could say the sky is blue and I wouldn't care since as far as I am concerned, they are a non-entity.

With all due respect, who gives a rats backside what the ICC thinks? They have no juristiction over anyone who is not a member. (Of course, France got the best of both worlds...they joined but conveniently got themselves a 10-year exemption...hypocrites).
