Sorry I had to become a ghost for my last quarter of school. The camp unit is from the Genghis Khan in Warlords. The graphic should already change to a Yurt when resting (it is one or two lines of python code). The extra benefits from various terrain producing different units was in the Warlord...
I thought about later eras as well., and yes it probably would be needed. If there was a way to do a sub-era tag in the xml in would be handy perhaps.
One of changes I would do to the techs is for example to have iron working at the beginning of the iron age so there would be a shift to...
I am good with the idea of course. If there is no known leader like there will be in many cases for civilizations, I am suggesting something generic for the unkowns. For example some Pacific Northwest Group back 3000 years ago.
It would accomplish making a more accurate time to change from...
I mean yes to the fact of stone being harder to work and taking more labor, but I mean the woodhenges could be more accurate with measuring alignments.
The only suggestion I had on leaders is that they are Genericized as well. And just make your traits as you go. For names any of the leaders I think should be tossed in a pool to be selected from any of the civs in the corresponding regions. Mayan leader for example could be an Aztec leader...
"Woodhenges" as in meaning similar structures made from wood are in many locations. The structure for stonehenge really is not a representation of more advanced improvements.
Anyway I mean as in borrow as in nothing would represent it better than me doing it. Be a modmod...or a separate mod. If...
Then why use any real names for civs at all? I mean it would seem that nothing matters but the name, and maybe some cool logo.
What you mean evolution is real?
I think you are missing the point. A culture is a unique way of adapting to the environment. I would like to see the uniqueness...
I am ok with "whatifs", but I mean if they become more common than the norm the interest begins to fade. I could make a "whatif" Star Wars characters occurred in a comical Stone Age. So therefore why couldn't Darth Vader not use an obsidian light saber to slay dinosaurs? The lack of rarity of...
@rightfuture
I am with you, but I have not got a clear response on splitting eras up or creating more homelands. I believe the separate regions beginning is needed. I would like for everyone to not have the same generic units in the beginning. Each region to me would have a different strategy...
I know for example Vitamin D came from milk which is why the lactose tolerance, but I am not sure that applies to every Asian skin pigmentation adaptations. It may well be just that.
The only point I am trying to make is to distance the concept of appearance meaning anything substantial from...
Just so it is clearer..I ask everyone to please just look through this wikipedia article on phenotype.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenotype
Below are images to show how a moth with a similar genotype can look completely different.
So anyway I am not a geneticist expert, but morphology is...
It is assumed the traits were developed in that environment. It would be no other way of proving differently (conclusively but always can speculate) unless a preserved body was found. There are some Asian populations like the Ainu that were claimed to look more white in some written text. There...
@Hydro
First let me put it like this to explain where I am at. Race did exist. Race as it is defined by today's society has much less to do with DNA. Race is just name used to try to classify some people on appearance. It is important to understand the role of phenotypes.
For example...
I thought this might be interesting.
http://www.bradshawfoundation.com/origins/denisova_hominin.php
Since it has been shown that Homo Sapien Sapien did interbreed with Homo Sapien Neanderthalis, and now another one has been found Homo Sapien Denisova (not sure if this the correct name yet)...
