How bug free is TAM? Both time playing as Arabia has crashed around the 128 turn mark Is there a one proven empire I can play that never crashes ever? Does the mod work multiplayer direct IP?

everytime i hit turn 128 (so i press end turn on 127) playing arabia, the game crashes to the desktop. Everytime. i installed 2.1 and then the patch (which i'm starting to think i shouldn't have done and 2.1 is all i really needed). any suggestions?
