My local EB Games called, my pre-order of BtS will be in the store by noon tomorrow. Remember that the 7/23 date is when the game will ship from distributors, no one will likely have it in before the 24th, or later, depending on whether they use overnight or two day air, or even five day ground...
For those lucky of you who have gotten the retail, I'm wondering if the printed manual is decent. The one from Warlords was pretty good, 140+ pages. Is the BTS manual as good? Does it have updated Civics, etc tables in the back like the Warlords one did? And is there a separate PDF version on...
I think it's a motivation to use the new espionage system rather than a slam against establishing religion in those cities. For me it will mean the end of grinding out missionaries as ersatz spies.
Well, here in the old US of A, no game stores I called are even admiting to having BTS in stock, much less breaking the street date. Makes me want to grab a bottle of Fosters, hang corks from my hat and sing The Philosopher's Song.
After a couple of days with the game, I'm very happy with the new interface, features, etc. The manual is very good; give it a thorough read and you'll find a lot of your questions answered. Be sure to read the designer notes ("Afterwords") by Soren Johnson, it's an excellent way to understand...
I found this to be a really annoyance as well. Also, in the diplomacy screen it appears that F12 (Civilopedia) doesn't work, so I can't get help on items being proposed.
Also hate the icons instead of the lists, and not having an index. And does there also seem to be less hyperlinking...
