    Neither, go for warrior; With an extra warrior you can: A. Explore more earlier on and get all the goodie ruins. or B. Invade a near by Civ or City-State.

    Basically, I've been attacked by a massive Civ (Rome) and I have a defense force of about one unit per city. While I am technologically superior, my current defense force is from ancient Era.
