For what it is worth, they told me not to have real player running in the background. I never tried it after removing real player, but someone else may want to. CIV3 games are just too damn long.

Yes, I have the same exact civilization3.e.exe problem. I am using W2K (SP2), 800mhz, GForce2 MX Video card, 384mb RAM. I think I've tried everything known to man, but cannot fix this problem. Tried uninstall/reinstall, patches, updated video drivers, defrag, more RAM, etc... Nothing. Did...
