a while back, when i was still playing (dont have wind0ze on my box atm :( ) i gave subs bombardment ability, with a strength of 8 or so, and a ROF of 1... not entirely realistic, since it could bombard shores too, but it did give the real stealthy feeling... move in, shoot a torpedo, and get...

does anyone here know anything about running Civ3 under linux ?? (with VMware/Wine/something else) since i can't get it to work properly (VMware is slow as hell (duh) and Wine gives an error during installation) also, will there be a chance of a Linux port for Civ3 in the foreseeable future?

yup.. i just moved the carrier to advanced flight.. a much more realistic tech IMO..

thx cerryl.. i've tried to tell him, and a lot of pplz do, but he just won't listen.. and you can get into diplomacy with another civ iirc while talking to someone.. just click the diplo advisor, go to the trade advisor, click a person you can trade with, and voila.. instant diplomacy.. just add...

you could always try wine.. on a lanparty me and 2 mates got Counterstrike (mod) Red alert 2, and a few other games to work under linux

naah... just a 0-0-2 or sth i suppose... i do only wonder what happens when a transport on land is destroyed... are the units in it destroyed too (which would be logical, but not all units) or are they placed were they were... also, is there any AI land transport strategy thingie???

hmmm possibly... i was wondering, if there was a way you could change the active player (is this saved in the bic file or in the save file, it must know which civ is the player civ you could place a civ's settlers at the right places, build, then change players and repeat... would you plz...

please post in the already existing threads.. the forum is a mess already due to some bugs.. and some pplz are starting a scenary beginning with some ideas, but before any serious work can begin we need a serious editor

since when this is all finished, the new editor will be out (hopefully) we could use it.. shouldn't be too hard i believe..

quite simple.. the one who brings the one ring to mount doom wins :) where the one ring could perhaps be an "army" (as in the fellowship protecting it at all costs)
