    [GEM] Kaitzilla vs. The World

Hi Kaitzilla! Very interesting thread, reminds me of Snaaty's Earth thread from long ago... wow it's almost been 10 years already. Anyhow, just my casual drop by to say that the easy formula is calibrated to Normal Speed. Since changing speed to Marathon doubles production costs, you need...

Land Target and Manipulating the AI

Hi Kaitzilla! Dusting off old mechanics :) Here are two old posts which are relevant to your topic. Peace vassals Permanent Alliance (well maybe not as relevant but it's similar goal) Keep up the good work

    SGOTM 22 - Lurker thread

RNG is a big part of civ4. It's impossible to remove all of it without tucking AI within peaks (blocks DoWs, early WW builds, tech trades), preventing forest/jungle growths, blocking events, no barbs and placing resources on all hills. But even then you can still get 'we love the ___ day' which...

Good job on finishing this scenario. I checked once in a while :hatsoff:

When a civ wants to trade maps...

I stumbled on CFC at about the right time hehe... Seems it died in the migration, re-uploaded in the all-over-the-place-linked-post. Thanks for the notice. So are all old attachments gone?

CIV Illustrated #3: City specialization explained!

Conversion costs are not as complicated as you make it sound, they are simply multipliers (e.g. Quick = 0.66, Standard = 1.0, Epic = 1.5, Marathon = 3). Besides, this is already covered somewhere else as you say. Doshin's point #2 can be explained in one sentence, that's his point. Explain why...

    SGOTM 21 - Plastic Ducks

GLH, Catas+HAs, spy city for WvO, early Astronomy. :shifty: From what I glanced, we caught up because they didn't concentrate enough on development after their good initial read and went a bit everywhere. They had Industrialism on T168 and a big cash stash of 5000+ at the end, 7 turns of excess...

    SGOTM 21 - Plastic Ducks

I am clam down, don't worry  We will have to agree to disagree. The only thing I hope the team will take from this long discussion of ours is not to get so tunnel-syndromed with the same old habits all the time. If the team ever has doubts whether it can prioritize :gp: more, then...

    SGOTM21 Lurker's Thread

These isn't much to discuss. There's a bug that allows you to liberate cities to a civilization while you are at war (not cease fire). Hence you could endlessly accumulate liberation bonuses without the -3 DoW penalty. If memory serves it was DanF in SGOTM15 that found this.

You need a few hills for hammers... not everything can come from the whip when you need Warriors/Archers.

    SGOTM 21 - Plastic Ducks

Of course it would not be very easy in hindsight with the way things developed but we would have adapted the same way we did: WvO first target. I would like to think that capturing enemy cities even 1T earlier is better than settling 2~3 island cities when GLH is already maxed. Happiness issue...

    SGOTM 21 - Plastic Ducks

Did we stay on 100% slider the whole game? Of course, it isn't possible but saves turns. If less focus was spent on some of those island with settlers/workboats, more army would be available earlier. Same with some infrastructure. None taken, but I wish the reverse could be true also: the...

    SGOTM21 Lurker's Thread

The issue is usually with the capital at a time where you're bringing in less than 20C/turn. It's an easy thing to fix really in the few places where it can be an issue.

    SGOTM 21 - Plastic Ducks

GAs and :gp: were mismanaged... this is not a stab at anyone, it's an observation. To add on Doshin's previous post, early GAs are very powerful as well for the snowball, civic switched and :gp: generation. Also, GM trade missions are realllllly good around the time we hit Education. That's...
