That makes sense. If a civ asks you for peace and you say "Nah...I'd rather have the city" it would stand to reason that you would appear to be a war monger... That is a good point about taking an entire civ to end the war instead of making peace.

Have you tried right clicking on the notification? That seemed to make them disappear for me. It's annoying to have to do to each individual notification, but it's better than having them there the entire game!

Having played since Civ 2, I have preordered via GMG for one very simple reason: I'm nearly 52 years old and at that age you never know how many days you have left! So the sooner I can fire up the game, the better! :goodjob:

I've noticed the same thing, going back to the pre-BNW patch. My last 2 games of Gods & Kings found my start-ups very single luxury heavy, for want of a better term. My first game of BNW found 3 Salt and 1 other luxury within reach of my Capital. Might just be coincidence, though time will...
