NC LVI: Willem of the Netherlands

Bugger, with work I'm still at 1000BC on NC LV  OK will crank this one out on Prince then go back to NC LV :) Starting thoughts, will settle in place but it doesn't look like it'll make a great long term capital for a financial leader like this. LPR.

NC LV: Huayna Capac of the Inca

@ Patronus Potter - I've never heard of a three city cultural victory before. That's pretty cool.

NC LV: Huayna Capac of the Inca

Starting thoughts... I'll settle in place for the nice hammer bonus and with the UU, will scout one (or two) AI to rush. Will play on Monarch, normal. LPR.

Is there any point to roading a cottage/town/village w/e

Yes, apologies, I didn't get the Levee behaviour 'quite' correct

Is there any point to roading a cottage/town/village w/e

Maybe sounds like you don't have enough workers if the don't have time to build 'roads everywhere'. Couple of bonuses for road (railroad) building... mines yield an extra hammer with railroad and riverside tiles and extra hammer with levees. Personally it's less thinking if I just road...

    WORKERS... Civ 4's worst nightmare

The thread subject should be renamed to "Automated Workers... Civ 4's worst nightmare". "Build Trade Network" is the only permissible automation option :coffee:

Nobles' Club LIV: Peter the Great of Russia

Played again on Prince to try for some of the more sensible national wonders like the Globe Theater but I couldn't build it, needed six Theaters... turns out the OCC option isn't on by default  So, just played in through again, on Noble, normal. Space victory in 1996.

Nobles' Club LIV: Peter the Great of Russia

Wish I'd thought of that

Nobles' Club LIV: Peter the Great of Russia

To clarify, I didn't build every wonder, tech, commerce, GP points and anything that acclerated GP production were my focus. No hammers were wasted on cultural wonders. For example I built the Orcale, got the free tech then go Liberalism. Don't know that I got the Great Lighthouse which might...

Nobles' Club LIV: Peter the Great of Russia

That's a bit disappointing. I played the Monarch save on Prince difficulty and lost to the Egyptians (cultural victory in mid 1900's). What confuses me a little is how I was crushing it at the start, taking any wonder I wanted, then as the game went on my tech slowed (had been at 100% until...

Nobles' Club LIV: Peter the Great of Russia

Oh, cheers. Alright, I'll play OCC then :)

Nobles' Club LIV: Peter the Great of Russia

Don't know what OCC is so I'm going to play this on Monarch, Normal and maybe do the OCC afterwards. Starting Thoughts: Settle 1N of the stone, this city will be my GPF I haven't finished a game on Monarch yet so won't speculate on victory type yet.

    Great scientists

The math hurts my head. I normally build academies with the first five GS then use any later ones to bulb techs. That's on Prince and below. I fear the higher the difficulty the less academies get built in favor of bulbing.

I would like some help with winning on Noble, please.

Yes, I change my suggestion based on the argument's put forward by the others and the fact I was distracted with work when I was writing it :mischief: Also, a secondary benefit, it'll provide a nice staging post before attacking Genghis. Keeping the units within your boarders will reduce the...
