I forgot how to play is this a good place to start getting the feel for this game again?
also is this the most recent nobles club game. I forgot almost everything but might catch on soon.
I think I won a couple noble games if I recall correctly but feel I want to try this game again I mastered...
I decided to start playing prince difficulty. I would like some guidance on where my standings should be at different eras of the game to know I'm still on track. Like
How many cities? How many wonders or skip them? How many military units. 10? 20? or more? Limit city infastructure to what...
I finally got a conquest victory in 1675 AD. With a 84k score. I found myself vassaling half the AI civs peacefully and the rest after taking a few thier cities. I started with archers instead of waiting for copper or horses. I originally built 8 cities. (map seems to make a difference for me)...
Thanks, I guess turning the blue circles off would be a good idea. I always wondered if they were any good and they seem to be misleading. I'll try watching where the AP is built and maybe make that a priority target. I agree steamrolling after getting rifles and so forth seems to be the best...
A lot of the time I feel it's partly luck if I manage a win. the apolopolistic palace messes up my chances of winning in a lot of my games. I tend to go overboard with military so sometimes my economy is weak because I have a lot of troops to support. I automate workers cause I feel I miss too...
I won my first reagent game with hiawatha building mostly mounted warriors. is there another civ I could try for a domination win using mainly their UU? I tried hiawatha on a standard map but the teching gets into calvary and pikemen before I can cover most the map with my empire. I won on a...
I have a similar problem but i seem to always get diplomatic victory. I don't think I have come close to a cultural victory yet. I missed a space race victory by about 1 turn. Probably needed some factories and other hammer multiplying buildings. I'm usually trying for conquest/domination in my...
Ok, I took a break for several months and feel I learned a lot from these boards I found I have a few strengths and weaknesses in my games.
My strongest area seems to be diplomacy (thats if I can get close to the domination requirements.)
Tech trading seems to be ok if I build the great...
@Lymond
Combat on prince seems easy now that I understand the combat odds a lot better. I'm in another game we can continue this one another time. I still like to learn some tricks here and there. I know a little more about prioritizing worker tasks that seems to make a big impact on how my...
I captured his capitol. Temple of Artemis and Pyramids. His first stack I encountered was an Axeman and 5 workers. hehe. Now I have enough workers for the whole island. I see why it's better to wait to attack the AI sometimes.
I think I'm going to divert to catapults in this game already to late to do anything else. Like most AI he will probably spam 50 archers before I can finish him. I got a couple pillage stacks ready so might hold off a few turns tech construction and declare at same time then finish him off with...
Ok I was playing a map offline and had bismark as my only neighbor. But I waited and waited and he never wanted to trade any techs. Seems I would've been better off axe or chariot rushing him than waiting for a trade?
Something i might try is getting him to friendly by adopting the religion he has.
