Why does civ franchise not seem to care about TSL Earth maps?

Humankind map generation #1 bug is that you have to assign all landmasses to different continents. The distant lands/homelands is a likely candidate for messing up the world builder the same way. But really with cities that gets +6 borders and cant settle 1 tile away they should make the map 4...

Make Civ Great Again - with SIMS vibes?

I just "would" like the Palace, the throne room, and a leader that don't get dates with the first one met around the corner... I tried to spicy it up a bit, it's no secret that Helicopter mode has been a ....... (self censoring happening)

Civ7 is 15% off on Steam summer sale

HK Map editor is a complete mess, You could have got it for free with the Epic giveaway... I got it on Both Steam and Epic... The problem with HK Map editor is the you need to "paint" the "continents" land masses by hand, no automatic generation tools of any sorts, not for resources, not for map...

Make Civ Great Again - with SIMS vibes?

Imagine you can start the game normally, your Leader, is also your King, or Princess, or just "The Leader". Maybe it's an Immortal Leader, son of God, like an Egyptian Pharaoh, or Alexander the Great... The you can play the game normally, but enter "SIM" mode any time you want, on any unit, and...

Player stats, sales, and reception speculation thread

Why negating us Mountains crossing and city settling on top of Mountains? You just need to add a few more Mountainous art terrains, with some flat tops, and humans anyway had always had the capabilities to shape any kind of terrain to their will. Most jewish settlements in Palestine were built...

The worst part was the modding support. Holding back crucial source files brought in a catastrophic state of Mods constantly crashing, only the Steam workshop, years later sort of panned out some incompatibility list, but still, is a total mess to this day, unless you don't stick with a modpack...

Like where is the Map editor? Or Scenarios? Those were always included in the base game, even HK has Map editor (a mess, and zero scenarios). By the next "big patch" update I would hope they will toast those in the base game, then maybe try a new "sale" window. Even Modders will do not touch...

They created a problem by simplifying the Sea-land transition, taking out transport vessels, also because 1upt never worked in the first place, so they needed troops that could walk on the waters... They did the same with Civ VI trade routes, that would transitions from land to sea...

I just finished playing a Civ IV game with Napoleon as leader of France, OP Musketeers, Immortal difficulty, was in war with Russia and China for half the game, with good Netherland neighbours and Sitting Bull doing its own business... crushed both China and Russia before getting a World...

Just to unlock you some memories... 25 Eur for the Deluxe, physical edition, with full printed manual, including Play the world and the Original Civ III. Which means... the final "Conquer the world" version still wasn't on the shelves... The manual explains the Capture the Princess option in...

How to repair the Age transition system -not a civ game- opinions and suggestions

Latin never adopted the norse gods naming. Lunes - Luna/Moon Martes - Mars Mercole - Mercurius Giove - Jove Vener - Venus Sabat - Saturn Domes - The Home, the Sun. Anyway... I lost track of why we were arguing about it... Oversimplification of all UI stuff, removal of tedious things like...

    Is civ a sandbox game?

I like to think about it in other terms. Take an Agatha Christie's book. It's short. Complex. Subtle. By the end of it you might be given a clue to what happened and then the story ends. That's comparable to nightmare difficulty in a game like Doom II. That's a truly sandbox experience. A...

How to repair the Age transition system -not a civ game- opinions and suggestions

They knew perfectly well the origin??? It was stolen from the Egyptians, renamed after Julius Caesar, I don't think anybody not even Julius Caesar knew the history of that calendar...
