i have 2.53 ghz, 750 ram, windows xp, pci intel graphics controller 64 mb

I can get civ 4 to work just fine, but i am having problems with the whole dark thing, and also the leaders have no face, you can only see their hair and eyes. does any 1 know what to do to improve this?
