IMO: Like it or not - the C2C community has largely split into SVN/CivFanatics (mostly players and ex-dev "old guard") vs GitHub/Discord (mostly new devs).
Both platform combos have complementary strength and weaknesses. SVN deployments and CivFanatics forums are very consumer and old habits...
@Pit2015 How big is your game save at 2000 turns?
The "correct" setting is too slow for me - I'm trying to get into the modern age one day and the turns slow down a lot even on my nice computer (i9 CPU). I switched to the GOG version of Civ4 (improved memory issues a lot) with the recommended...
My yearlong UEM run has come to an end after 2,214 turns (Renaissance age, 25.9MB save file, 4 city radius (big help!), marathon speed)
Sadly, I'm getting MAF's about every 2nd turn and I lost patience reloading saves.
The greatly improved C2C mod and UEM map stability is very impressive but I...
Would it be OK for me to sponsor a new C2C map script or map script update (C2C_Totestra, C2C_World) that has both "ringworld" (1:7?) height to width ratios AND the latest C2C map tiles/resources?
Ringworld maps give me the long-term exploration fix without needing to use supersized maps and...
I love transitional (strength/weaknesses changes conditionally or through time) or factional imbalance in single player games. However, I like story generator, sandbox, and grand strategy games - not so much competitive (leader boards, etc.) or pvp games. Stellaris 2.0 patch sucked when it took...
Well, Discord folks say that the GitHub and SVN builds have parity. Also, deploying GitHub's C2C build for playing appears to be a PITA compared to SVN . Every time there is an update, you have to compile DLLs, run some additional batch files, and keep a separate copy for compiling (no deploying...
Is the git version of C2C currently more up to date than the svn version?
The git repository direct downloaders to the SVN build: https://github.com/caveman2cosmos/Caveman2Cosmos
Any git download instructions?
Sadly, I found out from buying Civ5, Civ6, and Civ:BE that I don't care about one-unit-per-tile rules and small maps (low tile count). I guess this makes me a grand strategy game lover but not a 4X one.
