I would open them, and IF a settler of a diffrent empire wants to get through your main city you can simply break the open borders treaty with that nation. But normally the AI needs a lot of time to spread out, and if the next 10 - 15 tiles are yours no opponent settler will come.

i believe it was the same in the older civ's. if all city names of one empire are given away, the new ones are taken from a random non-playing civ.

so there is no chance of changing anything? hmpf.

i would like to conquer earth, but I've got one problem here. there is a world map in the scenarios, but there I cannot change any victory settings (i would like to remove Spaceship victory etc.). is there any way to play world map AND change these settings?
