    Sid Meier's Civilization VI announced!

I don't know how people are complaining about the cartoony graphics. It's not like the original Age of Mythology wasn't cartoony, although I guess you could certainly say that was a restriction of the times more than anything els- wait this ISN'T a sequel to Age of Mythology? Oh, well.

    Sid Meier's Civilization VI announced!

Christ, they want $80CAD to pre-order this? All they've shown us of the actual game is 3 cartoony looking screenshots, with some vague promises of things being like CiV but slightly different. Is that seriously all people need to fork over that much cash on a pre-order? Fooled me once with...

New Patch for Rising Tide: Wonder War and Chungsu new colors

Well, do they know it's christmas? My interest was piqued when I saw "wonder war", hoping it was going to be something of interest or value to do with wonders in general that actually built towards the end game. Silly me, just that thing people have been complaining the AI has needed since...

We want to hear from YOU

Strangely I can't seem to rank "press reviews" below "how many pretty colours are in the logo" or "how many people named Steve were on the development team" as far as things I couldn't care less about on that one list. Strange those options were missing. Seriously, !*@# press reviews, who still...

Patch update on the Firaxis livestream

Certainly a step in the right direction, but I have some major concerns about being able to get techs from the AI in exchange for peace. The tech rate is already super fast, being able to get free techs just by wiping out invading armies makes me think this is going to be massively abusable...

    Automated workers still don't work.

Don't automate your workers. Yea, it's a feature and it should work but I think we can apply that to basically every feature in the game at this point with equally disappointing results. Uh, at that point you can just delete/sleep workers whenever they want orders; still better than...

I just played my first Gemini difficulty game in BERT and won with ease

Not really. You can just kinda faff about and tech however you please without any concerns that the AI is gonna stop you from achieving victory on Apollo, as long as you're vaguely aware that you need to win before t250 (I think, I don't know exactly when the AI tends to win). You don't need to...

    AI or socmed commenters?

Right? I said it elsewhere and I'll say it again: the diplo banter is about the same as frickin chirper in cities: skylines (for those of you who haven't played C:S it's a universally disliked feature), yet somehow more annoying and less useful.

I just played my first Gemini difficulty game in BERT and won with ease

That's my point; what we NEED are changes to the AI and the base mechanics, what we're gonna get are more stupid AI bonuses and more artificial "challenges" (ex: DoW happy AIs, inflated turn times for victories, etc).

I just played my first Gemini difficulty game in BERT and won with ease

The choice for experienced players right now is just going back to CiV sadly, as there effectively is no diety equivalent. I'm sure we'll get a rebalance to make the game more difficult at some point in time that artificially makes the AIs more likely to DoW you, and gives them more silly...

    Apollo AI Starting Army

Fixed ;) Honestly, this isn't news. Apollo has always felt like an after-thought with BE that there has never been much desire to balance for. Not really shocking either when you watch the devs themselves play. :crazyeye:

    Rising Tide - First Impressions

The first game of BERT I loaded up Barre (I think) had 14 purity sometime well before turn 150 (maybe around t130?); I was flabbergasted by this as the next closest AI was sitting around 7-8 IIRC. Of course, Barre then proceeded to not get another point in purity the rest of the game, and all...

    I want old diplomacy back

No? Again, I'm running out of ways to phrase this. The AIs in CiV would act entirely differently from one another and would frequently change the way you approached a game. Finding yourself plopped down next to an aggressive or expansionist AI in CiV will change the way you play compared to...

    I want old diplomacy back

Ok, again, one unique trait that gets quite easily over-ridden by the other random traits does not equate to the AI finally having personalities, especially when they frequently ignore those traits and just kinda all do the same AI things anyway. Honestly, I'm running out of ways to phrase this...
