    Map of Greece, 4000 bC

Thanks to TerraForm I finished the map of Greece. It is rather sqeezed along the Y axis, since the civ1 map contains 80(X) x 50(Y) squares. :hammer: Greece is tall and skinny rather than short and fat. Now I'm going to create a WWII and Greek Civil War scenario (if I'll manage to find out...

    Help - Compatabity Issues

Oh boy, I play Civ I for twice your age years! Graphics are a serious matter, especially for a young person, but Civ I offers thrill rather than action. Go kick your father's scores!

TerraForm -- a map editor for CIV dos

Sure they are Darkpanda. The only problem is about the accuracy of the map. I try to create a big number of islands (in the Aegean sea) but they stick to each other, or to the mainland. It seems that I'll have to move them a bit. Thanks anyway.

    Civ 1 editing tools appreciation

Keep up the good work Civfellows. I'm amazed with your efforts, you really deserve our gratitude. I don't know why, but CIV I is the only game I still play fanatically. Best game ever!

TerraForm -- a map editor for CIV dos

Well, I'm trying to create a detailed map of Greece, but I have a problem that seems to be a common one. I searched a lot but found nothing that could help. You know, Greece has a varied coastline, with many islands and narrow see passings. Trying to terraform Evoia island, which is very close...

Is it possible to choose the other nations in Civ 1

How about changing the names of the other nations? Is there any way?

    Is diplomacy dead?

Civ1 diplomacy is exactly as real world's diplomacy. Negotiating peace is only for gaining time.

    For Emperor's Sake!

Thanks, but do units still become automatically veteran, even if Gunpowder is invented? What does "Gunpowder made barracks obsolete" means then? I never build barracks, because when I begin my imperialistic moves I already have gunpowder.

    For Emperor's Sake!

How many destroyed armors are enough when attacking to an enemy city?:mad::mad: I currently play a game on the Mediterranean scenario. Ok, I always knew that a phalanx can easily beat a bomber. But this time it seems that my armors are nothing against enemy units. Why on Earth is this...

    Your First 10 Techs.

I always try to expand as soon as possible so I take some risks, building settlers over and over. I stay rather unprotected, indeed, but I think that 2-3 chariots are enough at the beginning. In fact I'm financially dependent on the goodies (and the barbarians!), because I run with science 100%...

    Saving to avoid defeat

Thank you darkpanda. I'm not interested any more about forcing or prejudging the battle outcomes. After so many games I try to be game-honest. I can get over a city captured by the enemy. Quick reloading, though, is a good idea. Because I can't get over a city captured by the barbarians!

    Saving to avoid defeat

I 've been playing CIV.DOS since 1992. At first I focused on how to win every battle and, especially, how to get an "advanced tribe" behind every goody on the map. I still use save-quit-reload, sometimes, only to avoid the baddys (aka barbarians). How often do you save-quit-reload. And for...
