Well guys, after showing a lot of improvement in my previous game at the King level, it seems that I was back to my old familiar pattern in my latest game. That is, by the late industrial era I found myself mostly broke with marginal happiness and well-behind in the tech race. Oh well, back to...
Boy do I hear you loud and clear. Ram is sooooo smug it's sickening!
BTW, I also completely sympathize in that it seems at the harder difficulty levels the AI civs (especially Ram) can start wars to their heart's content, but when I do the same it seems the whole world vilifies me!
I hear you man. Nukes can be a whole lot of no fun. I agree totally though with those who say that WW2 fighters should have at least a small chance of stopping the 'Enola Gay' ;) (and jet fighters should be able to stop them no problem), and mobile SAM's should have at least a small chance of...
Thanks guys for the great and informative replies. I think my game at the King level is already showing some improvement from your suggestions. Again, even though I eventually went down in flames last night (with Catherine's double cross), still in all, I've never before made it to the modern...
Deau - Although I didn't always understand all the acronyms you used, I think I understood most of your points. So it seems then at King and above it's not a good idea to annex too many cities, but rather have a big puppet empire? Also, I hear you about bribing AI civs, though it seems that...
Thanks for the additional tips. I believe I am aware (if I don't always fully practice) most of the additional points you guys mentioned.
One of the things mentioned here though that I am starting to take a little more seriously is scouting. In the past I had usually neglected recruiting a...
Agree totally JimBro. I think the main problem is that they become available in that very short window between the Frigates and the Destroyers. I never bother with them, and just wait for destroyers to become available.
Thanks Snarzberry. This sounds a lot like a Zerg rush! But seriously, I can see how purchasing a library and then building the National College will give your Civ a huge early technology lead. I'm going to have to try this in my next game.
Without a doubt Siam has given me more trouble than any other AI Civ. I can't stand that little twerp Ramkhamhaeng! But seriously, I think the problem has to do with their civ attribute that gives them a lot of influence over city states, so whenever I run afoul of Siam I feel like I'm...
I think my thread title says it all here. Over the past 5-6 months I've been playing at the Prince difficulty level and have more often than not won, or at least managed a respectable score if I didn't win. I therefore thought it was high time I took the plunge and started playing at the King...
