Well crap! I'm an idiot. It is Uluru I have and not Mt Kailash. I knew it was a +6 FPT wonder, just had the wrong one. There it is in the bottom left.
Think Portugal likes me? That's what they get for plopping a city right in my area. Then they complain, not once, but twice, when I put down...
I got lucky with King Solomon's Mine in my last Spain game. Found it within 6 hexes of my capital. Bought the settler right away, built a granary and then proceeded to wonder spam thru the early renaissance. Ended up with 8 wonders in that city alone. Production in this city couldn't come close...
I've stopped using the building queue when building buildings that you can assign specialists to. I've burned myself a number of times by forgetting to assign the specialists right away. I'll be halfway or more thru the next building before I would notice my mistake. I'm usually pretty good with...
Here is the fourth city I started. Also in desert. I think I picked this one correctly on the hill with three oasis and wheat tiles in range. Could have used two Petra wonders :D
This game was just crazy and everything went right. I had allied every maritime and mercantile city state early so...
I've been winning on emperor pretty consistently now, so I'm thinking it's time to move up. But with that said, I still suck at picking the best city locations. This is especially true when trying to settle in or around desert. I've usually shied away from it out of fear of not getting Petra...
I used to like to try and wonder spam. I was a Great Library whore and thought I needed it every game. Now I hardly go for any early wonders. I find it better to concentrate on building stronger cities through other buildings instead of focusing a lot of hammers on wonders. I'm usually good to...
Planes aren't affected when doing a one city challenge. Found this out a few games back when I decided to continue playing after having already won. Got nuked repeatedly and my planes were never affected. Population and gold were hit way hard though. The city would have taken an eternity to...
I've only got 2 emperor games under my belt and both were losses to runaways. I had been playing OCC cultural games on King so I decided to stick with that for emperor.
The first game was a T343 scientific loss to a runaway Russia. I lost it by 4 turns . Would have been a 2 turn...
There's a number above the city or carrier indicating how many flying units are stored in that particular place. Click on that number and a list pops up indicating what is stored there
What do you do with the Great Prophets once seized? I've seized a a number of them but don't know what to do with them. Do they still retain the their original religion or are they converted to yours?
In my last game Korea kept sending out prophets and missionaries like crazy. Don't know how...
Gave it a go and won a late T355 science victory. Once I founded the city I saw that I had marble and more dyes. So those helped. It was slow going from the start. I misplaced a couple of builds and was having a hard time making friends early. I only had 3 RA's to start and those took a little...
As the title states this is my first time trying a OCC game as well as playing the Incans. I'm playing a King / Pangaea / Standard map. Would you consider the start shown below to be a good one? This was the first one that popped up for me.
The pros I see are:
- Flanked by mountains (defense...
Alright! That Great Merchant must have been the culprit. It was born 5 turns after the Tower was started. This was around the time I expected the GE. Good to know about how the GP cost is affected by the others. Will watch out for this in future games.
