    bit late but: It might be better if whenever you kill a new tech unit, capture a city with a new tech building, whatever, you have an option which goes "we can reverse engineer from captured material X science for a certain related tech for Y gold, do you want to?" probably depending on...

    New Ability - Sacking Cities

    so what reasonable reason is there to stop somebody sacking the city first with one unit and then capturing it with another? It would be kinda silly to make it so that "if you sack city ??? you can't capture it for X turns.... maybe if each successful attack against a defender or your unit...

    Basically I feel that when you capture a city from another Civ which has a tech(s) which you don't have then when that city is taken the research points which that city contributed to the research of those techs should be deducted from the current total of research needed to acquire that tech...
