Sometimes a tech (Sci method) or wonder or something (i forget really) makes another thing like Stonhenge or other culture wonders to go "obsolete". So does that mean your item like Stonehenge would stop producing culture for you when it goes obsolete? Are those obsolete rules only applied to...
Well I assumed they would just make lots of roads so my units could go anywhere in no time.
Anyway, funny thing happened. After my post to you I played and used automated road maker guy and he made an incense improvement on a single incense symbol way out in the middle of a desert that I never...
Fort buliding takes time and money and is not a route. Transportation (trade) network building can only be rails and roads. A fort doesn't add to a network.
This is straight from the civ 4 manual:
Automated Build Improvements: The worker will
move about your civilization, building any...
I use automated workers for building trade routes. You click the button with the white square with color squigglys that is suppose to represent a map. Using that, I never saw a worker build a fort or change any improvements. BUT when I click the one that looks like a small brown circle, to...
:goodjob:
Im gonna ignore the AI suggestions. Gonna copy your note too, to remind me.
Last night I began a new conditions game, never tried before, conquest only and tiny maps. But the two other civs asked for open borders and peace which i did not expect them to ask for since it's...
Ive always used it as a tool but now you got me thinking maybe it is actually preventing me from learning how to play the game because it keeps you from thinking about what to do next. hmmm
Shorter game length.
What two or three settings can be made pre-game that are best to make it a 1 or 2 hour game rather than a 10 or 20 hour game. The long match ruins my health and interest because I can't seem to stop for breaks.
Thanks Roland Johansen, Ori & Cabert for replies above.
I'll examine the score breakdown as I mouse over it.
I guess I like to win with whatever strategy I like and then try harder levels of difficulty and win as well. But I'm not sure I should care much about "how much I win by". Maybe a...
What are the main focuses on scoring methods?
I ask because the end of every game strongly suggests that winning isn't good enough when it tells you your leadership ability rank.
For example someone on this forum said these:
* win quickly for max points
* global domination wins give more...
Legitimate. America was the British human refuse can. We were a penal colony for over a century. The Brits asked for it. What do you expect when you send all your short fused criminals to one place for that long? Talk about resentment. No wonder America hated the British, it was like...
I won a score and a time victory but was not real excited because all you can do is defend. I wished I had more power to blow their doors off. If you just hold the cities you have you win. In one game I took small towns like Detroit and others on the West but on the next game I skipped doing...
I have Dan Quayle syndrome too...even though I have many time or score wins (but playing only up as high as Warlord difficulty).
I have had only one decent ranking which was a Winston Churchill win and that also was the only time I did not win by score or time. It was at Chieftain level of...
No palace building add on rewards in Civ IV like previous Civ versions. My guess is because overall the graphics are so far superior in Civ IV that they felt the photo clips of a palace to give you some visual fun was not needed anymore.
