I read through it again and I see that the crusade declares war against all civs not part of your religion. Perhaps make it targetted against 1 civ or 1 religion?

Well alot of the +happiness is from destroying heathen cities/civilisations. One of the reasons why you can't constantly war is because of war exhaustion. So I can counteract the -happiness by constantly warring, while gaining cities in the process boosting my long term gain.
I could abuse it...
I find the gold the best thing about it. Get a holy shrine, with cottages, corporation HQ with wall street and you're making huge amounts of gold a turn. I know I had one of my cities generating around 500/turn
I tried changing the numbers however didn't see any change with the late game techs. I change the percentage to 100 and 20 and saw no difference when I fired up a new game. Would I have to do a custom scenario for it to work?
I'm wondering how to change research time on techs particulary late game. I had a quick check in the game files and couldn't see anything that stood out to mod. I specifically want late game techs so setting the game to epic or marathon won't achieve what I want :)
heh I love these threads. 99% of the time you get someone asking whether they should buy this game on a forum that the game is dedicated to, then after reading all the comments from people will end up buying it :P
